October 2008

  • Thursday Oct 2nd- Bygone Days, with Sally Bennett and friends. 7:00-9:00p.m. Old-time country music, with string band tunes and traditional songs.

  • Saturday Oct 4th-Gracenotes 10:00-12:00 a.m. Enjoy your breakfast with the sounds of beautiful celtic music- Dulcimers and an Autoharp

  • Saturday Oct 4thSteve Schad-7:30-9:30 p.m- an exceptionally accomplished guitarist with a style that ranges from the ecstatic and ethereal to the raucous and rollicking.

  • Thursday Oct 9th- Chi Talks with Linda Mundt- 6:30-8:00 p.m. Topic this month is Relationship Chi: Recognize It, Create It. Your home speaks volumes about your relationships. Find out what it's saying to you, your family, and your friends. And learn how to shift the conversation. Free event!

  • Friday Oct 10th-Casey and Greg- 7:00-9:00p.m.- traditional, folk, popular, Irish, standards, and original music on acoustic guitars, mandolin, and harmonica. 

  • Saturday Oct 11th-Nancy Rost- 7:30-9:30p.m.  called "the love child of Tom Lehrer and Tom Waits". Songwriting awards in multiple genres, including pop/rock, folk, jazz and comedy.

  • Thursday Oct 16th-Bluegrass Jam 7:00-9:00 p.m.

  • Friday Oct 17th- Fair Trade Celebration 7:00-9:00p.m.  

    -Son Mundanza-Live Radical Music and Dance from Mexico 

    -Fair Trade discussion and sampling- with Just Coffee, Serrv, Family Farm Defenders and special guest Julia Baumgartner from the Migrant Education Program recently returning form the La Fem Cooperative in Nicaragua. 

    -Enjoy free samples of chocolate, tea, coffee, cheese, and wine all while listening to terrific music and hanging out with some wonderful people. 

    -Don’t miss the fun!  

  • Saturday Oct 18th-Fermata 7:30-9:30p.m.  a five-piece chamber art rock band comprised of double bass, viola, violin, acoustic guitar, banjo, accordion, and mandolin with male and female vocals. Weaving stories with sound, cadence, and crescendos in a way that stirs us and reminds us why we seek out music in the first place - to feel.

  • Friday Oct 24th-Open Mic- 7:00-9:00p.m Spread the word, and come out for a surprisingly fun night of impromptu entertainment. All types of talents welcome!

  • Saturday Oct 26th – Tracey Beck 7:30-9:30p.m.  Acoustic guitar and harmonica

  • Friday Nov. 7th- Girls Night Out & Gallery Art Sale- 7:00-9:30p.m Join us for an evening of shopping, relaxation, and fun. Complimentary wine, hors d'oeuvres, and massages from Y-Massage. Many local female artists will be on hand with their work on display and for sale. Buy something you can feel good about this holiday season.

  • Friday Nov. 14th-Feng Shui Talks with Linda Mundt   7:00-9:00p.m. Wealth Chi: Recognize It. Create It. What is the state of mind that allows wealth to flow freely?  What does your home reveal about that state of mind or the absence of it?  This full-participation event will include plenty of time for your questions and for visuals.

  • Saturday Nov 15th-Steve Hicks virtuosic fingerstyle acoustic steel string guitar and vocals and Dave Irwin Madison Fingerstyle Guitarist  7:00-9:00 p.m.

  • Friday Nov. 21st- Tom Volman- 7:30-9:30p.m  Acoustic ‘Americana’

  • Saturday Nov 22nd John Statz- 7:30-9:30p.m. acoustic guitar. John was recently nominated for two Madison Area Music Awards
